TARGETED UNIVERSALISM

Our approach is guided by the theory of targeted universalism, which acknowledges that improving outcomes for the most marginalized ultimately improves conditions for everyone.

The 40x40 neighborhood struggles with a host of systemic barriers to housing, health, economic opportunities, and education, with Black children and families experiencing some of the greatest inequities and most detrimental outcomes. By applying a targeted universalism approach that centers Black individuals and families, our efforts will improve conditions for all community members in the 40x40.
